For years there were rumors that the first couple and media mogul Oprah Winfrey were on the outs, this intensified shortly after Oprah declined an invitation to a party at the White House. Of course we never put much stock into that and the power-houses spending the week together at Oprah’s exclusive estate on the island of Maui.
A caravan of Maui police cars and black sport utility vehicles was sighted near Oprah Winfrey’s house in Kula on Sunday morning, local residents said, fueling speculation that first lady Michelle Obama is visiting the island.
The Daily Caller reported that Obama is hanging out with Winfrey-confidante Gayle King of CBS News, White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and Sharon Malone, Attorney General Eric Holder’s wife, while in Maui.
The First Lady’s extended vacation was actually the President’s idea, just ahead of her 50th birthday on January 17th.
