President Obama’s Visit to Cambodia

President Obama donned a traditional silk shirt as he posed with other world leaders during his final stop of his historic East Asia tour. He made history twice within hours, becoming the first U.S. president to set foot in Myanmar – known more commonly as Burma – and Cambodia. Unlike the visit to Myanmar, where he met with opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi and praised the country’s progress, Obama made it clear he is only in Cambodia to attend the summit. He said the trip should not be seen as an endorsement of Hun Sen and the government he has led since the 1980s, when Ronald Reagan was in power in the White House.
